A rod end (DIN ISO 12240-4) is generally a standardised, ready-to-install machine element used for the transfer of static and dynamic forces in connection with swivelling, tilting and turning movements.
We can offer you DURBAL, IGUS, SKF and Sealmaster rod ends. Our main supplier DURBAL offers two lines of maintenance free rod ends (Classic or Basic Line).
DURBAL Classic Line heavy-duty rod ends in accordance with DIN ISO 12240-4 consist of a housing, an injected bearing race and an inner ring. The heavy-duty rod ends of the DURBAL Classic Line have an integrated spherical plain bearing. These rod ends are maintenance-free.
The rod ends are available in the series K, E/EH and in inches. These DURBAL Classic Line rod ends in accordance with DIN ISO 8139 can also be combined with pneumatic cylinders.
The maintenance-free DURBAL rod ends of these series are primarily used in situations where swivelling movements are small and speeds are low. These rod ends can handle very high loads and are also suited for use with impact loads. The hard-chrome plated or stainless steel joint ball glides on a special glass fibre reinforced plastic sliding bearing race – DURBAL-Glide –, which among other things is made of PTFE to minimize friction. The design ensures that they are absolutely maintenance free and also practically free of clearance. The compound used has the favourable secondary advantage to absorb any foreign particles and to enclose them that no damage may occur.
Mainly all sizes in this series consist of a forged part and tempered rod end housing. This makes these DURBAL rod ends extremely hardwearing. We also offer the maintenance-free rod ends in stainless steel and aluminium.
DURBAL Basic Line standard-rod ends in accordance with DIN ISO 12240-4 consist of a heat-treated steel housing with a pressed spherical plain bearing. The maintenance-free standard rod ends of the DURBAL Basic Line are all lined with bronze - PTFE - composite or bonded with PTFE - fabric.
The rod ends are available in the series K and E. These DURBAL Basic Line rod ends in accordance with DIN ISO 8139 can also be combined with pneumatic cylinders.
The series K rod ends of our Basic Line are suitable for use in situations of low speeds and dynamic loads and our series E are suitable for use with unilaterally acting loads.
These standard products are distinguished by high precision and dependability as well as by an outstanding cost-benefit ratio.
More robust than typical deep groove ball bearings, they are highly customizable with the possible combination of many different components. This results in up to 10 000 possible configurations! Find the optimum configuration to deliver the kind of high performance you need – whether that’s exceptional durability, for example, or lower friction.
Designed especially for wind turbine generators, SKF Quiet Running deep groove ball bearings significantly reduce noise levels and structural resonance. They are less sensitive to variable operating conditions, can increase bearing service life and extend relubrication intervals.
