Mounted bearings and housings with rolling bearings support a rotating shaft, which can be bolted on a machine frame or any other substructure.
There is no need to precisely machine a bearing housing in a surrounding casing.
This makes these solutions cost-efficient and easy to use, while providing full rolling bearing performance.
- Ball bearing units Because of their versatility and cost-effectiveness, ball bearing units are used in many industrial applications. Ball bearing units consist of an insert bearing mounted in a housing. An insert bearing is a deep groove ball bearing with a sphered (convex) outside surface and an extended inner ring that includes a mechanism to lock the unit onto the shaft. The housings have a correspondingly sphered but concave bore. We offer a wide variety of units with different housing shapes, bearings, seals and locking methods. It includes units to ISO standards, North American standards, and Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS). Ball bearing units can accommodate moderate initial misalignment, but normally do not permit axial displacement.
- Roller bearing units Because of their versatility and cost-effectiveness, roller bearing units are used in many industrial applications. Our Roller bearing units are robust, ready-to-mount units that are assembled, lubricated and sealed at the factory for maximum service life. They consist of a housing, a spherical or tapered roller bearing, seals and a lubricant. Due to their simple and safe installation and easy alignment, they are an excellent alternative to sleeve-mounted bearings in split housings. Our assortment includes units of several housing designs, using ConCentra or set screw locking methods, in both metric and imperial dimensions.
- Bearing housings Bearing housings support your bearings, protect them from contaminants while keeping in lubricant, and can also house monitoring equipment. Essentially, they provide customizable mounted bearing solutions and help maximize performance, service life and cost-efficient maintenance of the incorporated bearing. Explore our wide range of high-quality housing designs and sizes to meet your specific challenge – including specially designed housings for special applications.
- Cooper split bearing units SKF Cooper split bearing units are the ideal solution to reduce machinery maintenance and repair downtime. The advantages of the SKF Cooper split bearing solution are especially valuable in inaccessible or trapped locations, for example, between head pulley and gearbox or motor, where the need to dismount associated equipment is eliminated. Split bearing units can be disassembled into smaller components, easing the tasks of lifting and handling and making mounting or replacement simple even in the most cramped and inaccessible conditions. Clearances are pre-set, so there is no requirement for any on-site adjustments or specialized fitting tools.
