This motor is a variant of the three-phase asynchronous motor, fed by a three-phase AC system. The ability to run at more than one speed offers more flexibility for applications that do not use a frequency invertor.
Several variants are possible for pole-changing motors:
- Two pole numbers that relate at a 1 to 2 ratio are called the Dahlander winding.
Examples: 8/4 pole or 4/2 pole motors.
- Two numbers of poles with a different ratio are called the separated winding.
Example: 6/4 pole motors.
- With 3 pole numbers, a combination of Dahlander and a separate winding is often used.
Motors with frame size > 200 are available on request. Please contact us.
