Ex II 2D and Ex II 3D according to EN 50014 and EN 50281-1-1: The protection method for explosion-proof motors is achieved by a certain degree of dustproofing combined with a maximum surface temperature on the outside of the motor.
This also prevents sparks caused by static electricity.
The maximum surface temperature of the Rotor NL® motors in both the Ex II 2D and the Ex II 3D version is 125°C; indicated on the nameplate as T = 125°C.
