Stern tube seals

Chrome steel liners
We provide chrome steel liners compatible with all standard stern tube seal systems. Both aft and forward liners have OD-finished surfaces, allowing for additional machining as needed.
Function:
In oil-lubricated, lip-type systems, stern tube seals protect the propeller shaft by wearing grooves into the liners. During overhaul, seals should contact an undamaged liner surface, adjusted by repositioning the seal box with a distance ring.
Compatibility:
Our AFT and FWD chrome steel liners meet industry standards and are compatible with nearly all stern tube seal systems.
Distance Ring
Our distance rings, also known as spacer rings, are designed to enhance the lifespan of your liner by optimizing the position of the stern tube seal system, reducing wear and extending service intervals.
Our distance ring, or spacer ring, can be installed between the stern tube and the aft seal housing to extend the lifespan of the liner. By repositioning the seal box, the distance ring creates a new running surface for the stern tube seals. This adjustment helps to optimize performance and longevity.
Additionally, distance rings can be fitted without the need to remove the propeller, making the installation process both efficient and cost-effective.
